MODULE 1

FUNDAMENTALS OF DIGITAL DENTISTRY ON TEETH (CHAIR-SIDE AND LAB-SIDE)

The new digital work methodology represents a real challenge in our profession, since it involves the change from the traditional mechanical retention by friction to the purely adhesive retention.

This situation, together with intraoral scanning, forces us to modify the way natural teeth are prepared (both anterior and posterior) in order to achieve an adequate design software proposal and a stable restoration in the long term.

The design and development of restorations for the anterior sector using CAD / CAM represents an even greater challenge for the clinician, given the number of variables that converge with each other, as well as: the translucency, the opacity of the substrate, the fluorescence, the shape and the texture. During this module we will see in detail the 'skyn concept' applied to the flow by CAD / CAM, as the fastest and most efficient method to obtain esthetic restorations.

Based on the most up-to-date concepts, regarding the minimally invasive preparation of the anterior tooth, the adequate selection of the restorative material based on the optical and biomechanical properties, the final adhesion and cementation, as well as everything related to the final make-up / polish and management of the software to optimize the aesthetics in the previous front.

In this way, for two full days will be exposed the scientific bases linked to the knowledge and experience of more than nine years doing dentistry through chair-side and lab-side to understand how it works:

Biomechanics of the natural tooth and its relationship with CAD / CAM materials.

Fundamentals for dental preparation adapted to biomimetic restorations using CAD / CAM.

Fundamentals of intra-oral scanning: possibilities and limitations. Practices with design software in dental restorations.

Integration of the digital moack-up and the skyn concept.

Adhesion and cementing management for CAD / CAM materials.

Makeup and final polish.
